Collector Car Appreciation Day Approved by Senate

Last night, at SEMA’s request (with ARMO’s encouragement and guidance), the United States Senate passed Senate Resolution 513 (S. Res. 513) designating Friday, July 9, 2010 as “Collector Car Appreciation Day.”  Special acknowledgement goes to Stuart Gosswein and Dan Sadowski of my office for working with Senate staff to expedite passage.

The Resolution, sponsored by Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) was approved by unanimous consent (all Members of the Senate approved) and officially recognizes “that the collection and restoration of historic and classic cars is an important part of preserving the technological achievements and cultural heritage of the United States.”  We are greatly appreciative of Senator Tester’s and Senator Burr’s  public acknowledgement of our hobby through this important Resolution.

This is big for all automotive enthusiast and we here at Goodguys will be celebrating this at our Columbus, Ohio event. Funny, July 9th is the Friday, the first day of our 3-day event.
